Halloween at the Irish Arts Center this Weekend

How It’s New York: This Saturday, families from Hells Kitchen and New York City come together for the Irish Arts Center Halloween event Oíche Shamhna. And on Sunday, local Irish Language speakers and horror movie enthusiasts will enjoy the Halloween Film Festival at theCenter.

How It’s Irish:  The Irish Arts Center’s family event on Saturday, October 27th Oíche Shamhna, leads children and family members in creative projects featuring púcas and fairies, crafts including turnip carving and traditional Irish Halloween activities. On Sunday, October 28th the fun continues with our Irish Language Halloween Film Festival celebrating the life, work and legacy of Irish horror novelist Bram Stoker and his gothic novel Dracula with the screening of Bram Stoker agus Dracula; all three episodes of Na Cloigne; PLUS trivia, costume competitions, and fun Halloween activities with a dance party to end the evening!

Oiche Shamhna

Saturday, October 27th | 1 PM

The Irish know how to have fun, and Halloween is no exception. Join us for a day chock-full of great activities for kids and parents alike: we’ll be making masks, carving turnips, having our fortunes told, and showing off in a costume parade. And, of course, there will be traditional Irish treats!

We’re teaming up this year with our friends at Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA). They’ll be performing three brand-new plays featuring spooky púcas and feisty fairies. No tricks: this is a Halloween celebration you won’t want to miss.

Join Irish Arts Center for an afternoon filled with lively spirits and fun for the whole family. Children will be lead in creative projects featuring púcas and fairies, crafts including turnip carving, and traditional Irish Halloween activities.
