This past Friday I was honored to be among those treated to the best the Irish Arts Center has to offer. The overriding sentiment of the night was that when the Irish Arts Center calls, you stop everything and rush right over to support them. And that is just what the phenomenal performers featured in this varied night of song and story brought to the party.

Ireland Rising – Words and Music for a New Century: A Special Benefit Performance for Irish Arts Center
This year my time at the Tribeca Film Festival started with the visceral thriller from director Simon Dixon, Tiger Raid. Straight out of the gate, this film pits its two main characters, Paddy (Damien Molony) and Joe (Brian Gleeson) against each other, across the vista of war torn Iraq.
A devilish mix of psycho-drama and buddy-road pic, we find the two main characters, Irish mercenary cast-offs set adrift after the end of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, on a mission to carry out a Tiger kidnapping of the daughter of a well-heeled Iraqi businessman.
