An event every week that begins at 8:00 am on [day], repeating indefinitely
Language reflects the character and mode of thought of its speakers. As with other languages, humor is and has been expressed in a variety of forms in the Irish language. However, this is an under-recognized aspect in the public image of the language. This conference will present, investigate, analyze and critique the intricacies of the relationship between humor and the Irish language with contributions from academia, members of Irish language cultural organizations, and the performing arts.
Proceedings will be through the medium of Irish.
The full conference schedule will be available in February. Conference website available at http://www.nyuirish.net/greann/achoimri, including a running list of accepted papers.
