IRISH ARTS CENTER PRESENTS ACCLAIMED BALLADEER DECLAN O’ROURKE & ORCHESTRA, FEBRUARY 17-19

“Compassion, romance, a sense of mortality and a sense of history run through the songs of Declan O’Rourke…his calling is as a balladeer, proffering reassurance in the face of inevitable sorrow.” – Jon Pareles, The New York Times

Irish Arts Center has a great history of showcasing cutting edge musicians that redefine what it is to be an Irish artist, such as esteemed Irish rockers Joe and Steve Wall of The Stunning and theatrical songstress Camille O’Sullivan. From February 17-19, Irish Arts Center welcomes celebrated singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke for three unique performances with a ten-piece orchestra.

Direct from the National Concert Hall in Dublin, the acclaimed Irish balladeer Declan O’Rourkereturns to Irish Arts Center with a ten-piece chamber orchestra conducted by Henry Hey (Ireland Rising, David Bowie’s Lazarus), February 17-19. Launching his latest studio recording In Full Colour in the US, the concert will feature orchestral arrangements of over a decade of musical treasures across Declan’s career including “Galileo,” “A Little Something,” and “Children of 16.”

On the heels of Valentine’s Day, love will surely be in the air at this rare chance to swoon over another unforgettable performance by this Irish Arts Center favorite.

Tickets for the performances start at $34 and are available by visiting www.IrishArtsCenter.org or by calling 866-811-4111. Irish Arts Center is located at 553 West 51st Street.
