Joseph Buggy talks about Finding Your Irish Ancestors in NYC

February 28, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$10

Irish-born sociologist and author of Finding Your Irish Ancestors in New York City Joseph Buggy discusses genealogical resources in NYC, as well as unconventional sources in Ireland. His lecture will stress the genealogical resources here in New York City and environs (some conventional, and some quite unconventional and unique) that will be useful for those people seeking to trace the lives of their Irish-born ancestors who at one time lived in New York City.

Joseph will also talk about sources of information that can be used to trace your Irish ancestor’s townland of origin, including some rather unusual record sources in Ireland.

Joseph Buggy has worked as a professional genealogist and as a research associate at the Irish Ancestry Centre in Limerick. He is currently a sociologist with George Mason University in Virginia.

Presented with the New York Irish History Roundtable.
