Origin Theatre’s Spring Benefit at Mutual of America

Origin Theatre kicks off its 11th season in a star-packed Spring Gala at Mutual of America on Thursday, May 30th at 6:30. In addition to cocktails and a buffet, attendees will get to sample many non-edible delicacies, including a short showcase of Origin plays in development. Origin artistic director George C. Heslin will introduce the cast of “Stop the Tempo,” the site-specific play that Origin is producing at Arlene’s Grocery, which runs May 26th to June 18th. The Origin benefit honors Lorraine Turner, head of the New York office of the Northern Ireland Bureau, and radio journalist, community leader and promoter of Irish-American causes, Adrian Flannelly. Participating in Origin’s Celebrity Auction this year are an amazing cross-section of stars from theatre, film, television, and the literary arts. Participants are Alan Cumming, Brenden Coyle, Sophie McShera, Lesley Nicol, Colum McCann, Aidan Gillen, and Malachy McCourt, among others.
