NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present the New York premiere of Gare St. Lazare Ireland and Dublin Theatre Festival’s acclaimed production of Samuel Beckett’s WAITING FOR GODOT. Directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett, WAITING FOR GODOT will begin performances at NYU Skirball (566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square, New York, NY, 10012) on October 13, 2015 for a strictly limited run through October 17, 2015. Tickets are on sale now at www.nyuskirball.org , or by phone at 888-611-8183.

Gare St. Lazare returns to New York after their critically acclaimed production of Title and Deed, presented in association with the Signature Theater (“The subtle, superb Irish actor Conor Lovett …elegantly directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett” – The New Yorker). Gare St. Lazare is Ireland’s most travelled theatre company, having visited over 80 cities in 25 countries worldwide to perform from their repertory of over 17 Beckett productions, establishing themselves among the foremost interpreters of the work and as artists whose dedication to a single writer is unparalleled. Past Beckett productions include First Love at The Public Theatre in New York; The Beckett Trilogy (Molloy, Malone Dies, The Unnamable) in Los Angeles, Australia and the UK;  The Calmative in Ireland; and the upcoming productions of The End and Here All Night at Lincoln Center’s White Light Festival in November of 2015.

On a country road, two friends wait for a man named Godot to arrive. Their comical efforts to pass the time parody the human condition, and the everyday language of their exchanges takes on a universal significance.

Directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett (Title and Deed)the New York premiere will star Conor Lovett (Title and Deed) as Vladimir, Gary Lydon (War Horse) as Estragon, Marcus Lamb (Game of Thrones) as Lucky, Dominic J. Moore (Corcadorca Theatre Company’s Mr. Punch) as Pozzo, and William Houlton Keppler as The Boy.

WAITING FOR GODOT will feature set and costumes by Ferdia Murphy (Belltable Arts Centre’s Anything But Love), with lighting design by Sinead McKenna (The Gate Theatre’s The Price).

Tickets for WAITING FOR GODOT are on sale now and may be purchased online at www.nyuskirball.org, by phone at 888-611-8183, or in person at the NYU Skirball Center Box Office: Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00–6:00 P.M. The NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is located at 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square, New York, New York 10012.

On October 16, 2015, NYU Skirball, Glucksman Ireland House at NYU and Gare St. Lazare Ireland will present BECKETT’S WAITING FOR GODOT: A SYMPOSIUM.
