The seventh installment of Irish Arts Center’s acclaimed Masters in Collaboration series pairs award-winning Irish traditional musician Karan Casey with vocalist and American singer and songwriter Aoife O’Donovan. Casey, an innovative and provocative voice in Irish traditional music, has a career that spans twenty years, starting as a jazz performer in Dublin, later making waves in New York with the band Solas, and now has a blossoming solo career. O’Donovan is renowned for her ability to breathe magic into anything she sings; she’s toured internationally, performed with the Boston Pops and the Utah Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared on countless radio and television programs. Casey and O’Donovan will spend a week making music together and further developing their creative partnership as IAC artists-in-residence.
