This outstanding Massachusett-based duo has only rarely performed in the Big Apple, and this is a long overdue Blarney Star concert series debut. Whether it’s vocals or instrumentals you like, you won’t be disappointed by the Heatons. Matt Heaton, a master of both guitar and bouzouki, can supply propulsive rhythmic drive when that’s called for, but he also knows when to shift to subtly understated accompaniment. Shannon Heaton is a superb flute player and a wonderful singer with a gorgeous voice and finely tuned traditional music taste.
