Blending Irish folk and Americana, the Henry Girls from County Donegal, Ireland, will import the Irish to Drew University with a concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, in the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts.

Sisters Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin, who named their band after their grandfather, released their debut album, Between Us, in 2003. Their most recent effort, 2014’s Louder than Words, received raves:

“These sisters have a sensational talent. The quality of their harmony singing goes beyond mere technique. They possess an unerring ability to blend tone and resonance in a seamless fashion.”

—The Evening Herald (Ireland)

“The essence of their achievement is to charmingly personlise their music … Graceful harmonies, charming vocals and elegant musicianship.”

Songlines (UK)

“Get ready to listen, folks, because this is something special. Every now and then, you run across something so uniquely different that you just have to shout it from the mountaintops. The Henry Girls are one of those musical acts that you just want to tell people about. The writing is first rate, as is the instrumentation, and those harmonies. I can’t say or write enough. Go seek this one out yourself. You will be glad you did!”
