Our sixth annual PoetryFest celebrates Ireland and America’s great literary connection by showcasing an unparalleled array of much-published and award-winning poets. The only New York festival of its kind, PoetryFest immerses participants in an intimate and creative atmosphere filled with readings, storytelling, book signings, conversations, and more.
Vona Groarke has published six collections of poetry with Gallery Press, the latest being X, (2014), a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for Spring 2014. In the U.S., she publishes with Wake Forest University Press. Current Editor of Poetry Ireland Review and a member of Aosdána, she teaches poetry in the Centre for New Writing at the University of Manchester in the U.K.
Kevin Young, winner of the 2003 Paterson Poetry Prize, and a finalist for the National Book Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. The author of numerous books of poetry, he is a professor and curator of collections at Emory University in Atlanta.
